Russian or Ukrainian. Whom you are going to choose?

For many foreigners there is no reason between Russian and Ukrainian ladies and they still think that Russia and Ukraine is the same country. Mostly it comes from previous experience when these countries where a part of Soviet Union but in 1991 Ukraine got her independence and The Commonwealth of Independent States (between Russia, Ukraine and Belorus) was formed. Though people in Russia and Ukraine lived according to the same laws and rules and had similar traditions, after getting independence people of both countries started to develop their own customs that have their history routes. If you think that Ukrainian and Russian women are very similar in character, mentality and attitude towards life because they are Slavic women, you are wrong. Temperament. Comparing to single Russian ladies, Ukrainian women are more sensual and sensitive, they don’t hide their emotions and if you visit Ukraine you will find how welcoming they are. Walking on the streets of any Ukrainian city you will be surprised seeing all ladies wearing high heels. They always have makeup because they like to be bright and attract attention. Russian ladies are considered to be more direct but less independent because they always rely on their family support. Ukrainian women are more independent and open minded.

Beauty and appearance. Both Russian and Ukrainian women are very pretty. But back to the history, Ukraine was occupied with different nations and not only Ukrainians inhabit Ukraine. That’s why the mix of bloods makes Ukrainian ladies so special and attractive to the opposite gender. The skin of Ukrainians is darker and the color of eyes is brown while Russians are mostly blonds with light-colored eyes.
Cooking. Once you can open and compare the fridge of Russian and Ukrainian woman, you will understand everything even without words. Russian women are very thrifty and they will cook only the necessary amount of meals that you can eat for dinner or for supper. If you are lucky to have a dinner in Ukrainian family, you will be feed like you have never eaten before; it will be Ukrainian borsch, dumplings and all the variety of Ukrainian dishes and snacks. Needless to say how tasty the Ukrainian food is as besides Ukrainian it is a mix of Polish, Jewish, Hungarian, Bulgarian, Greek, Italian and French cuisine.
Language. There is no secret that people who live on the East of Ukraine mostly speak Russian and those who live on the West communicate only using their native Ukrainian language. There are some similarities between Russian and Ukrainian language but they are absolutely different. All Ukrainians understand Russian because of being in USSR where the Russian language was a compulsory subject in every school, but not every Russian citizen can understand Ukrainian. Ukrainian pronunciation is softer than Russian one and Ukrainians call their language as “warbling”.
Relationship. Russian women are less demanding in relationship with men because they were raised in a family with strict rules and were taught from childhood to be obedient and modest. Ukrainian lady more often want to have equal relationship with a man, to share all the duties and household equally. There is no “male” or “female” chores for Ukrainian woman, she will always want to do everything together. You will find this element of feminism to be very attractive once you start close relationship with a Ukrainian one.
Love and money. Both Russian ladies for marriage and Ukraine ladies are family oriented. Traditionally, Ukrainian women are responsible for budgeting and making a decision. Usually they have a leading position in the family and have to be more practical; that’s why they are more realistic about material things than Russian women. Ukrainian women want the best life for their family and they want their husbands to be a provider of their family while Russian women are known to be dreamers and less practical. Ukrainian women are warmer and more affectionate about their feelings than Russian women.

Women are women

A great number of women both in Russian and Ukraine are originated from a mixed family where one of the parents would be of Ukrainian ancestry and the other one of Russian. Such families live both in Ukraine and in Russia and that’s why it’s not easy to compare Russian and Ukrainian women: they are similar and different at the same time.

Russian and Ukrainian women have leading positions among brides of other countries for foreigners and it explains the amount of Slavic women marriages with the men from abroad. According to statistics, in 2017, 19 000 of Ukrainian women left Ukraine because they have found love overseas and they expect that this number will increase next year. Meanwhile, the number of marriages with Russian women that were registered only in Moscow, Russia in 2017 riches 13 000 but compare with 2015, the amount of marriages with foreigners reduced. In 2015 there were almost 16 000 of marriage registrations.
